The strict lockdown regulations in the city of Prague in the Czech Republic have finally been lifted. To celebrate, thousands of locals gathered in the streets to take part in a massive public dinner party.

Thousands sat at a 500 metre-long table on the Charles Bridge in Prague, sharing with neighbours with no social distancing.
The country of 10 M had under 12,000 infections and only 350 deaths.

The epicenter of the mass dinner party was the located over the famous 14th century Charles Bridge and included a 515m-long dinner table that was decorated with white tablecloths and flowers that stretched through the city of Prague, according to CNBC.
‘We want to celebrate the end of the coronavirus crisis with people meeting up and showing they’re no longer afraid to meet others. That they aren’t afraid to accept a bite of a sandwich from someone,’ said Ondrej Kobza, the Prague cafe owner who organized the event, to Agence France-Presse news agency.

The Czech Republic was one of the quickest nations in Europe to implement a lockdown (March 12) and one of the first European countries to tell its citizens to wear a mask when out in public. These measures, and the speed at which they were implemented, helped the county avoid the worst of the pandemic, according to CNN.
‘Society mustn’t be afraid. Otherwise, we’ll have an economic crisis, a depression and that will hit society harder than Covid-19,’ Kobza said.
The country’s ban on foreigners crossing its borders is still in place.
As of July 2 the Czech Republic, which has a population of 10,69 million has a total of 12,046 COVID-19 cases, with 7,797 recoveries and 349 deaths, according to Worldometers.com
