The scam, designed to deceive individuals into divulging sensitive information or transferring money to fraudulent accounts, has been making rounds on the popular messaging platform. SAA has taken to its official Instagram account to alert the public, emphasizing that these offers are in no way affiliated with the airline’s legitimate ticketing services.

‘Please be aware that these offers are not associated with our airline. For your safety and security, always verify information through our official channels,’ SAA stated, urging travellers to exercise caution.

SAA also stressed the importance of being cautious when receiving unsolicited offers or payment requests via messaging apps. The airline reminded passengers that staying alert and taking the necessary precautions can help protect them from falling victim to such scams, ensuring a safe and secure booking experience.

The airline is calling on the public to be vigilant and to double-check any ticket offers they receive by contacting SAA directly. Customers can verify the authenticity of any suspicious offers by reaching out to the airline’s customer service at +27 11 978 1111.
