The Augrabies Falls continue to rise after consistent rainfall across the country and it’s a splendid sight to behold. On 20 November 2022, the river flow had risen to 2553,3 cumecs.

Otago Regional Council explains that ‘One cumec equals one cubic metre of water flowing past a point in one second. One cubic metre of water equals one thousand litres and weighs one tonne.’
Augrabies Falls has an average of about 40 – 60 cumecs year-round to give you an idea of how high the falls currently are.
One visitor to the Falls over the weekend of 19/20 November shared photos of the magnificent sighting.

The videos below show the power of the water and the reason why Augrabies Falls is aptly called ‘The place of roaring water.’
Take a look.
Water levels in dams, rivers, and waterfalls around the country also continue to be on the rise.
