As per The Lowvelder, SANParks communications manager Isaac Phaahla reported over 360 arrivals so far this Heritage Month, setting a new record for the airport.
“For the first time, on the 1st of September, which was the start of Heritage and Tourism Month, it was exciting to see the number of arrivals at Skukuza Airport. We had almost 365 arrivals, and that’s a first in the history of the airport,” said Phaahla.
This boost coincides with Tourism Month and is expected to positively impact local employment and development.
The acquisition of an international license by nearby Hoedspruit Airport is anticipated to further increase international visitors to the region, one of South Africa’s prime safari destinations.
