Condé Nast Traveler has released their ‘gold list‘, consisting of their hand-selected best hotels in Africa, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean for 2021 and 2022. Under this list, two hotels from sunny South Africa are listed, one in 2021, and one in 2022 respectively.
Earlier this year, South Africa was also mentioned on the publication’s annual list of the world’s top 20 destinations for travellers for 2021.
Londolozi Game Reserve
Listed as the best hotel in South Africa on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2021 gold list, Londolozi – isiZulu for protector of all living things – is located in the heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, within the Kruger National Park. Sitting on the banks of the Sand River, the Londolozi Game Reserve is internationally recognised for its firm stance in ecotourism which consists of progressive land management, wildlife rehabilitation, and involving the community.
This family-run business is not only one of the original pioneers in ecotourism but is also the first game reserve in the world to be afforded Relais & Chateaux status, a testament to its luxurious accommodation, fine cuisine and exceptional service.
