France has officially moved South Africa from the orange list to the green list for travel into the country.
The eased rules will commence from 14 March and mean that fully vaccinated South Africans with either Johnson & Johnson or Pfizer can now travel to France. South African’s can also take part in all activities without the health pass or QR code.
Unvaccinated South Africans will also be able to travel provided they have a negative PCR test done 72 hours before boarding or a negative antigen test 48 hours before boarding.
Prime minister Jean Castex said in a statement that masks will no longer have to be worn indoors where it was last compulsory such as in companies, administrations, and shops. However, they will still be compulsory in health establishments and public transport, including airplanes and trains.
Castex also announced the termination of the vaccination pass from 14 March. The health pass, however, will still be needed in medical establishments like hospitals and nursing homes. Vaccination will still be compulsory for caregivers.
