If birdwatching is a favourite pastime of yours, then spy on the beautiful nocturnal avian predators of Pretoria with SANParks Honorary Rangers.

From February until April, SANParks Honorary Rangers are offering birdwatchers the chance to get up close and personal with the creatures of the night.
‘There is nothing quite like an owl’s call. That glorious disembodied hoot or eerie screech that reminds us as we lie in our beds that beyond the gutter’s edge, over the rooftop, somewhere in the darkness, is a life and a beating heart that we can never quite know,’ said the organisation on Facebook.
The owl spotting evening will take place in Rietvlei Nature Reserve in Pretoria on three separate dates: 27 February 2021, 27 March 2021 and 17 April 2021.
Guests will be taken on a four-hour game drive starting at 6pm, in search of these magnificent birds in their natural habitat. Booking is essential and all proceeds go towards projects identified by SANParks.
Tickets cost R375 and include a four-hour game drive with an expert field guide as well as dinner. Children 8-years-old and over can attend.
