Brights Zoo in Tennessee welcomed a spotless baby giraffe born on 31 July.
This occurrence is extremely rare, and in a statement, the zoo said, ‘Giraffe experts believe she is the only solid-coloured reticulated giraffe living anywhere on the planet.’
According to CBS, the zoo announced a naming contest and has narrowed the suggestions down to four names.
Founder of Brights Zoo Tony Brights hopes that international coverage of this spotless giraffe will create awareness of much-needed giraffe conservation, as over 40% of wild populations have been lost over three decades.
