In alignment with the Earthshot mission to inspire environmental restoration and innovation, the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) is thrilled to present its annual “Take a Hike Day” on Saturday, 16 November 2024. While the official “Take A Hike Day” is on 17 November, TMACC invites the community to join a day earlier for a morning of scenic trails and hands-on conservation work.
This year’s event also coincides with the 13th anniversary of Table Mountain’s recognition as one of the New7Wonders of Nature, highlighting the mountain’s natural beauty and the ongoing commitment to its preservation.
Starting at 7 AM at the base of the Platteklip Gorge Trail, registered hikers will receive water and waste bags to aid in their clean-up efforts along the way. As they hike, participants will help pick up litter, supporting TMACC’s mission to “leave it better than we found it.” At the Twelve Apostles Terrace, they can dispose of their collected trash and will be rewarded with a complimentary cable car ride down the mountain and a snack pack.

If weather conditions are unfavourable, TMACC has reserved Sunday, 17 November, as an alternative date. Early registration is encouraged via TMACC’s social media platforms, as space is limited.
