The Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital needs help

The Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital is a non-profit organisation that solely depends on donations to keep the hospital running. They are dedicated to treating wildlife only and aim to improve the treatment, survival rate, and success of rehabilitation of small to medium-sized indigenous South African wildlife.

The hospital has performed some miraculous treatments on owls, mice, birds, and tortoises.

One of their most recent treatments was on a Southern African python (Python natalensis) which was collected after a local community contacted a snake rescuer. The 8.5kg and 2.6m python will be release into a safe and suitable environment.

The hospital is running low on funds and although they try to spend as little as they can on treatments, they still need to provide their patients with the best quality service and that can get expensive. The hospital is calling on the community to help donate with whatever they have in order to keep the hospital running especially because they are working so hard with the goal of one day being recognised as a teaching veterinary hospital.

On their website, you will find a wishlist of everything the hospital will gladly appreciate – anything from food, to cleaning supplies to equipment.
