Turkey has adjusted its travel restrictions to South African passengers as of 15 November 2021. Passengers travelling to Turkey from South Africa and those who have been in South Africa in the last 14 days are exempted from quarantine provided that they can produce proof of full vaccination with vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
All passengers travelling to Turkey from South Africa are still required to produce a negative PCR test not older than 72 hours prior to arrival.
Those who cannot prove full vaccination status with vaccines approved by WHO but can prove that 14 days has passed since their last dose, will be required to undergo quarantine at their residential address. A subsequent PCR test will be administered and pending result, quarantine will be terminated.
If the individual is not tested on the 10th day of quarantine, quarantine will be extended to 14 days. Passengers between the ages of 12 – 18 who cannot provide proof of full vaccination will be allowed into the country provided they are accompanied by their parents. A negative PCR test must be provided not older than 72 hours. The PCR test will be repeated once they arrive at their destination residence, in which quarantine is dependent on the result of the test.
