Virgin Atlantic extends seasonal route from London to Cape Town

Posted on 21 August 2024 By Tsoku Maela
Virgin Atlantic is set to extend its popular seasonal winter route from London to Cape Town, responding to increasing demand. The airline’s flights, which typically operate from October to March, will now be extended through April 2025, adding a month of service to accommodate the high demand during the Easter period.

This extension comes as welcome news to travellers, particularly those seeking to explore Cape Town’s vibrant culture and stunning landscapes during one of the busiest travel seasons. Marc Harding, Virgin Atlantic’s Country Manager for South Africa, confirmed to Travel News that the decision to extend the service was based on the high demand during Easter, allowing more passengers to take advantage of the route.

Virgin Atlantic’s connection between London and Cape Town has become a vital link for travellers, and after a hiatus that began in 2015, the airline resumed this direct route in November 2022.
