South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced that essential maintenance work at the R27 gate of West Coast National Park began on February 3, 2025. The project, expected to last six months, may cause temporary traffic disruptions. Visitors should allow extra travel time when entering or exiting the park.
SANParks urges travel agents and tour operators to inform clients of potential delays to ensure smooth travel plans. These upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and improve the visitor experience at the park. The R27 gate is a key access point; the improvements will boost its efficiency and functionality.
