An extreme weather warning for the Western Cape has been issued by The South African Weather Service for today, 1 December 2022 as temperatures are expected to soar.
The eastern interior is expected to be the most affected by high temperatures, with Beaufort West expected to reach 38º C. Other parts of the province that will experience the brunt of the heatwave include Prince Albert, Laingsburg, and Oudtshoorn.
Outside of the province, Graaff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape is expected to experience temperatures of up to 40ºC.
