A rare sighting of a wild puma wandering though the empty streets of the Chilean capital Santiago was recently caught on film.
Authorities captured the puma and took it to the Santiago Zoo to undergo tests.
The female puma is suspected to have travelled from the surrounding hills in search of food and there were no humans to scare it off. She is approximately 1 year old and weighs 22 kg, according to Irish Times.
Marcelo Giagnoni, director of the agricultural and livestock service that took part in an operation to capture the puma said, ‘This is the habitat they once had and that we’ve taken away from them,’ according to Straits Times. ‘The puma is in good health,’ he added.
