World Cruise Awards: Cape Town Cruise Terminal named Africa’s best

Posted on 5 December 2024 By Tsoku Maela
The Cape Town Cruise Terminal has once again been recognized as Africa’s Best Cruise Terminal at the prestigious World Cruise Awards. This marks the terminal’s fourth consecutive win, cementing its status as a top-tier gateway to Cape Town and the iconic Waterfront.

Andre Blaine, Executive Manager for Marine & Industrial Property, expressed his gratitude. He said, ‘We’re honoured to receive this accolade, especially following our recent recognition as Africa’s Leading Cruise Port at the World Travel Awards earlier this year. These achievements reflect our commitment to excellence and to presenting Cape Town in the best possible light.’

The terminal’s innovative integration of food, retail, and office spaces has been a key factor in its success, drawing visitors into the port environment and driving increased foot traffic to the Waterfront. Blaine emphasized the terminal’s pivotal role in shaping visitors’ first impressions of Cape Town, ensuring each arrival is memorable.

This milestone would not have been possible without collaboration with partners like the Western Cape Government, the City of Cape Town, Transnet National Ports Authority, and Cruise Cape Town powered by Wesgro. Together, these stakeholders continue to elevate South Africa’s cruise tourism industry, driving regional growth and success.
