World’s longest zipline to be constructed near Caledon

Posted on 21 June 2024 By Louise Bell

While establishing the longest zipline in the world near Caledon was in the works years ago and was set to be completed by 2022, compilations associated with the COVID-19 pandemic put this project on the back burner. Now, the installation finally has an end date in sight.

Imagine soaring over the picturesque wheatfields of Overberg, with the majestic mountains and the bustling N2 as your backdrop. This is the unique adventure that the world’s longest zipline, set to be 3.2 km long, promises to deliver.

Currently, the ‘longest zipline in the world’ title is held by Ras al Khaimah, with a length of 2.83 km. But K3 is ready to claim the crown with their thrilling new zipline.

While visitors usually visit Caledon for its wildflower trail and Elgin Railway Market to soak up the scenic farms surrounding the town, they now have a new, thrilling bird-eye view to drink up these picturesque plains.

While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, K3 is steadfast in its confidence that the zipline will be up and running by the end of June 2024. Be sure to follow K3 – SA Forest Adventures for any further updates on this exciting venture
