Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa has launched the world’s first museum Insta Map to help visitors navigate the seven floors and 60-plus galleries inside, which boasts the world’s largest collection of contemporary art from Africa.
The museum’s philosophy is ‘to make art more accessible, digestible and enjoyable for everyone, irrespective of their background, art knowledge or income.’ Its Insta Map aims to make this dream a reality.
On arriving at the museum, visitors can go directly onto the museum’s Instagram page, called @zeitzmocaa.map, or scan the QR code.
The map will change constantly depending on what is on display. It gives visitors a quick overview of what is on display on the different floors, where the key artworks are and where museum facilities are located.
The page also offers a two-hour Insta tour and a guide to ‘the most Instagrammable spots in the museum.’
