Nestled between Blairgowrie and Victory Park in Randburg, Delta Park still stands as one of Joburg’s largest green spaces – a ‘green lung’ of the City Of Gold.

The 108-hectare park is a peaceful escape from the city’s busy atmosphere – a place to ‘touch grass’ and admire a pretty, well-maintained (with notable thanks to Delta Park’s dedicated community members) landscape of grasslands and woodlands.
Delta Park’s winding trails connect three tree-lined dams creating the ideal spot for family outings, a place to walk the dogs, and a spot for runners and cyclists who are adventuring in groups.
As with many areas in Johannesburg, we wouldn’t recommend heading out to Delta Park solo, and especially not after dark.
This is a go-to spot for families or larger groups during the daytime. Residents who frequent Delta Park have noted that they have had safe experiences adventuring the park solo, especially during busier hours. We’d advise sticking to safety in numbers whenever you’re out to brave the elements, in general. Good company and a stretch in the sun does no harm.
One of the park’s unique features is its ‘sensory trail’, developed in 1997. According to Joburg Bucket List, this 103-meter path was designed to engage all senses, allowing visitors to see, smell, and touch various plants while listening to the soothing sounds of a trickling brook and birdsong.
Birdwatchers will appreciate the park’s viewing hides, offering opportunities to spot local feathered residents in their natural habitat.
If you’d like to make a pitstop for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake nearby, Delta Cafe & Don Quixote is an ideal dog-friendly spot to grab a bite after a stroll in the park.
