The haven offers serenity and resonates with many souls. It also carries profound historic ties as it protects the historical site of Mapungubwe Hill. The Hill was the capital of the Kingdom of Mapungubwe, as well as wildlife and forests along the Limpopo River.

The Bakone Malapa Museum is an archeological site dating all the way back to the 17th century. This open-air site is a reconstructed village which preserves the way of life of the Northern Sotho people, giving visitors the chance to explore various aspects of culture and tradition.
