Part expedition, part workshop, all adventure, this hiking workshop for beginners is designed to get womxn comfortable, educated and confident to tackle an overnight hike in the wild.
Because a woman’s place is? EVERYWHERE.
Womxn for Wild is, in a nutshell, outdoor experiences for conscious womxn – open to all those who advocate and respect our planet’s wild spaces. This is a community for learning. Their biggest goal? Prove that womxn can adventure anywhere – safely.
In building hiking confidence and getting more womxn in the mountains they are inviting womxn to the Southern Drakensberg from 3-6 November 2022 with their trusty certified female mountain guide Michaela Geytenbeek from @pathfinders_sa for the next Hiking For Beginners Overnight Adventure.
You’ll learn all the hiking hacks on this women-only weekend away to glorious Garden Castle. The road to hiking is paved with good intentions, but it can be overwhelming! This luxurious expert-led hiking workshop and all-female outdoor education hub include technical gear presentations, safety drills, advice panels and expert hiking suggestions.
There will be a strong focus on trail ethics, menu plans, hands-on testing and buying advice, mountain rescue drills, and the opportunity to put all that theory into practice on a gorgeous introductory overnight hike to a cave in the mighty Drakensberg.
