Established in 1849, the Durban Botanic Gardens is a 15-hectare oasis of plant diversity.

The natural attraction is Africa’s oldest surviving botanic garden, and it promotes biodiversity and environmentalism. You can enjoy refreshing scenic walks and guided tours as you learn more about the history of the attraction, as well as the interesting plant life it boasts.

The Nelson Mandela Capture Site holds enormous significance for South Africa as a whole. It is where struggle icon Nelson Mandela was arrested on the 5th of August 1962.

The site is operated by the Apartheid Museum and serves to commemorate Mandela’s arrest, as well as his life spent behind bars. A visit to the site is interesting and insightful, providing necessary information into South Africa’s past.

Explore the famous Victoria Street Market

As Durban’s oldest market, the Victoria Street Market offers a blend of all things Indian and African. It is the place to go for cultural exploration and artistic indulgence.
