The Marine in Hermanus is marking the Easter holidays with a lunch celebration on Sunday 17 April.
The hotel is a landmark of warm hospitality in the heart of the popular coastal town. It is known for its delicious cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Rudi Blaauw and his team. The Easter lunch menu comprises four sublime courses served in The Pavilion Restaurant, overlooking Walker Bay.
The gourmet journey will begin with a dish that nods to the surrounding, ever-stretching ocean vistas – Cape Malay Pickled Hake with romaine leaves, heirloom tomatoes and a baby hot cross bun. From there, the Duck Liver Parfait will be the next course, served with cherry jelly, pecan nuts and challah. Roast Lamb will be a show-stopper main course and to finish things on a sweet note, Raspberry Eaton Mess will be sure to delight all diners. Vegetarian options are available too.
Out-of-towners may wish to extend the celebrations to a sleep-over or Easter mini-holiday, making the most of the public holidays.
Bed and breakfast rates start at R7 550 per room per night and include a complimentary minibar.
The views from The Marine are beautiful, with the famed cliff path leading past the hotel to the tidal pool below. Perched on rugged cliffs, the hotel offers sprawling ocean views with frequent sightings of dolphins and whales.
Easter lunch is R425 per person. Bookings are essential.
