Of course, it would be amiss to go to Mpumalanga and not take in the panoramic views of the Blyde River Canyon.
The attraction is one of the country’s most beloved and scenic areas. It is nestled along South Africa’s famed Panorama Route and offers views which are nothing short of breathtaking. From majestic mountain ranges to the lush valley below, your eyes are undoubtedly in for a treat.
Lowveld National Botanical Gardens

Straddling the Crocodile River, the Lowveld National Botanical Garden offers breathtaking natural beauty. It is also home to a spectacular man-made rainforest.
The Garden’s character is intricately moulded by the presence of its two primary rivers, the Crocodile and Nels Rivers. Prepare for an awe-inspiring experience of unbelievable natural charm.
Sudwala Dinosaur Park
Embark on a solo journey back to a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth. At the Sudwala Dinosaur Park, you can walk between life-size models of pre-historic amphibious reptiles, dinosaurs, pre-historic mammals and even pre-historic humans. The models were realistically created by Jan van Zijl, the artist behind the black wildebeest on South Africa’s old 2c coin.
The park was launched in 1972 and officially opened in 1977. It was named after Mr. P.R. Owen (1900 – 1972) who was responsible for constructing the road up to the Sudwala Caves in the late 1950’s.
