Grabber body, hand and toe warmers
A cunning combination of iron filings and vermiculite, these little packages heat up when punctured (it’s an exothermic oxidative reaction, if you want to get scientific about it). Stick the body warmer down your shirt, the toe warmers in your boots and the hand warmers in your gloves and you’ll be happy in the howling wastes on the higher levels of Kilimanjaro.
Grabber body warmers last about 24 hours, hand warmers around seven and the toe warmers for six or more.
Tip:
If you want to save one for later after you’ve already punctured it, stick it in a Ziploc bag. The reaction only continues as long as there’s air.
