Have you ever wondered which countries are the most ideal for longer vacations? A recent study has analysed over 100 countries to determine the best destinations.
According to SA People News, the study evaluated a number of factors including affordability, safety, cultural richness and travel convenience.
The research focused on countries with a search volume which is greater than 1000 000. Additional data such as geographical size, popular attractions and UNESCO World Heritage Sites was also incorporated.
Moreover, costs for a 20-day hotel stay and dining were also included to assess financial feasibility. The research process further included the examining of data regarding crime index and domestic transportation in order to assess convenience and safety.

Here’s a list of the Top 10 destinations which are best for longer vacations:
- Vietnam
- India
- Philippines
- Sri Lanka
- Thailand
- South Korea
- Japan
- Saudi Arabia
- Mexico
- Turkey
South Africa ranked at number 64 on the list.
The Top 3
Taking the lead, Vietnam received a score of 64.31 and was recognised for its low hotel prices and extensive tourist season.

In the second spot, India received a score of 61.17 and stood out for its cultural richness, popular attractions and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The Philippines ranked third with a score of 55.74. The destination offers relatively affordable stays. It is also safe and convenient, thus appealing for long vacations.
