Spring is in full swing and that means wildflowers in the Western Cape. Could it get any better than hiking among all the colours of the rainbow on a sunny day? Apparently, it can. Hiking guide Tim Lundy and his group spotted a caracal in the meadow, enjoying the mild weather. And, they saw the cat not once but twice!
‘My second flower trail for the season and while driving to drop our gear we see a Caracal 5m from the roadside. I scramble for my cellphone but end up photographing everything but this beautiful cat (that was my first sighting of this majestic and elusive creature),’ Tim said.
‘Slightly disappointed that I was not able to capture it, we drive on. On the way back we encountered it again and this time I was ready! Oh, and the flowers were in their millions!’
