Waterfalls are a display of nature’s refreshing and breathtaking beauty. Across the globe, there are waterfalls which possess unbelievable charm and are simply a sight to behold.
Here are some of the world’s most beautiful waterfalls.
Victoria Falls
The charming Victoria Falls is one of the world’s most famous waterfalls. Although it is not technically the tallest or widest waterfall, it boasts impressive beauty.
Victoria Falls is situated along the Zambezi River between Zimbabwe and Zambia. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also known as ‘Mosi-o-Tunya (the smoke that thunders). This natural wonder and towering sheet of water plunders down a 100m vertical drop, making it a glorious sight to behold and certainly worth the visit.
Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is a group of three waterfalls at the southern end of the Niagara Gorge. The largest of these waterfalls is Horseshoe Falls, straddling the border between Canada and USA.
The beauty of these falls can be viewed from a number of viewpoints in Ontario and New York. These crashing waters are truly a magnificent sight, and thus a must-see for all nature lovers.
Sutherland Falls
Sutherland Falls boasts undeniable beauty. This waterfall in New Zealand is located in an area that is rather remote and requires some effort. However, the reward is absolutely jaw-dropping.
It is located in Fiordland National Park and is 580 meters tall. Not only is it breathtakingly beautiful, it is also said to be the tallest waterfall in New Zealand.
Angel Falls
With a height of 979 meters, Angel Falls in Venezuela is the world’s tallest uninterrupted waterfall. Although getting to the waterfall is neither easy nor quick, the majestic and spectacular view makes it all worth the trouble. From December to April, there is an increased opportunity to see the falls in all their glory. The rest of the year is mostly dominated by rain and clouds can obscure the falls completely.
