Voëlklip Beach
If you’re a beach lover, Voëlklip Beach is worth experiencing. The relatively small beach is arguably one of the best beaches in the Western Cape province. Whale watching is a must-do activity when in Hermanus. As a breeding ground for southern tight whales, Hermanus is one of the best whale watching destinations in the world.
The best times to spot the gentle giants is between July and November. On a whale watching boat trip, you can view these beautiful animals a little closer and learn more about them from experienced and professional guides.

Fernkloof Nature Reserve
Located in the Kleinrivier Mountains above Hermanus, Fernkloof is a paradise for nature lovers. It is home to flourishing and diverse flora, as well as impressive birdlife. The reserve is also great for hiking and has colour-coded hiking trails which run through it. Expect to enjoy spectacular views of the bay, town as well as Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. If hiking is not your cup of tea, you can still enjoy a tranquil walk or a picnic at the reserve.
