Losing your luggage while travelling can be really stressful, but knowing the right steps to take will help you resolve the issue promptly. Here’s a straightforward guide to handling the situation, no matter where you are in the world.

1. Give it some time

First, understand that baggage delays are not uncommon, especially at busy airports. It’s normal for luggage to take between 30 to 45 minutes to appear at the carousel. Sometimes, bags arrive in batches, so if your bag isn’t immediately visible, it might just be delayed.

2. Check other areas

If your luggage doesn’t show up on the designated carousel, it might be in a different location. Check nearby carousels or the airline’s baggage office. Occasionally, bags are misplaced and might be waiting in another area.

3. Stay calm

If you’ve confirmed that your luggage hasn’t arrived and isn’t just delayed, stay calm. Stress won’t help resolve the situation any faster. Approach the airline staff with a clear mind.

4. Report your missing bag
