Overpacking
As much as possible, avoid overpacking. Take only that which you will need. Overpacking is not only inconvenient, but it may also slow you down unnecessarily as you commute. Moreover, bringing way more than you need can lead to a cluttered and disorganized hotel room. Pack only what you will be needing for the number of days which you will be spending away.
Failure to eat healthy and exercise
Although business travel can easily disrupt your routine, it is essential and beneficial to take care of your physical health and to eat healthy. If the hotel which you are staying at has a gym, make use of it in order to remain active. Ensure that you are eating a balanced diet as much as possible. Taking care of your health will keep you energized and alert throughout your trip.
Consuming too much alcohol
While some client dinners and business meetings may include a glass of wine or two, excessive drinking is not recommended.
Be mindful of your alcohol consumption and know your limits. Moreover, alternate alcoholic beverages with water as this will help you to remain hydrated.

Neglecting leisure time and rest
When travelling for business, it can be quite tempting to use all your downtime to tackle tasks on your to-do list instead of resting. However, rest is an important part of a productive and successful business trip. When it is time to rest and relaxation, be intentional about doing so. Make sure that you are getting enough sleep at night as well.
Disregarding international business etiquette
It is crucial to be mindful of the business communication etiquette in different countries. Failing to know and observe the business and communication etiquette at your travel destination can serve to your disadvantage. It can make you seem disrespectful to local culture, while also hindering your ability to foster long-lasting relationships with international clients. Do your research and ensure that you are well-versed in the business etiquette of your travel destination.
