Winter getaways are quite magical. However, packing for a trip in winter can be stressful, especially when you are travelling with children.
Trying to pack light while also ensuring that your little ones will remain warm throughout the trip can be a challenge and a half, but it doesn’t have to be.

Here are a few packing tips to consider for a winter holiday with your children:
Pack less than you would for summer
Winter clothing is bulkier, so it helps to minimise the number of items you pack. Remember that certain items such as jackets can be worn repeatedly.
Keep layering in mind
Layering is a helpful winter hack. When packing, be conscious of layers and how your children will be wearing their winter clothes. Be sure to pack moisture-wicking base layers, a few mid-layers such as sweaters, and an outer layer which is waterproof and wind-resistant.

Don’t forget the warm socks
Warm socks are a definite must for cold temperatures, especially if your little one enjoys kicking off their shoes. Wool socks are a great option as they are both warm and breathable.
A good pair of gloves too

When you are out in cold temperatures, the last thing you want is for your children’s fingers to be freezing cold. A good pair of gloves (or mittens) which are easy to put on will do the trick.
A first aid travel kit
Travelling with a first aid kit is absolutely essential. Children can easily get injured or sick. Make sure your kit comes complete with bandaids, pain relief and motion sickness medication. Your winter kit is also incomplete without medication for colds and fever.
