Two years ago, Kiem Lam quit his job and grabbed a one-way ticket to London. Armed with his camera, he set out to discover the world . 17 countries, 343 days and 6237 photographs later, he created this video entitled Time is Nothing//Around the world.
The video, a result of 58 buses, 19 planes and 17 boats throughout the globe, is the ultimate lash to the concept of space and time. Lam’s breaks all the inhibitions placed by different time zones across the world. From the geyser fields of El Tatio, Chile to the waterless and baking hot Sahara Desert in Egypt, he fuses the world into one large time zone.

What makes this video truly captivating and attention-grabbing is the way Lam successfully merged completely far-off and unrelated concepts like elephants in Chiang Mai, Thailand with a concrete jungle like London. I mean, he reconciles evening traffic in New York with the sheer tranquility of Wadi Rum, Jordan in awesome fashion. After watching the video, I realised that it doesn’t matter what part of the world we are, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
