The beach resort borders the Eastern Cape and is a two-hour drive away from Durban, making it the perfect Easter family retreat.
For families with small ‘chicks’, there are plenty of themed activities that will ensure that magical memories are made.
Throughout the weekend, the Easter bunny and Cliffy the clown will be making lots of new friends and will be available for photographs. Much fun is also to be had on Friday and Saturday when the children will have the opportunity to participate in a colouring competition at Squawkers Cove.
Another highlight of the weekend will be the annual Easter egg hunt that will take place on Sunday. The person who collects the most eggs will get a prize.
Older children can participate in the hula hoop competition happening at the Wild Waves Water Park.
In between sets, the 10000 m² water adventure park boasts six rides, as well as the Lazy River ride. The Kid’s Zone is also a great spot for the youngsters to get up to their own fun.
For parents with teens, water activities such as kayaking, water skiing and boat cruises down by the Riverside Aqua Sports Beach Bar are available on the banks of the Umtamvuna River.
Keen golfers will enjoy playing the 18-hole golf course, ranked one of the top courses in Southern Africa. The scenery is magnificent, and the country club offers light lunches and a view of the sea and hole number 18.
Adults can try their hand at the tables in the casino, playing roulette, poker or blackjack, or sit back at one of the many slot machines to see if luck is on their side.
