The Topi pride of lions in the Maasai Mara National reserve picked the wrong buffalo to hunt, which managed to escape the lions and three hippos.
The buffalo managed to escape the siege from the pride by taking refuge in a small stream infested with hippos.
The hippos were not too pleased with the new visitor but fortunately, the lions got preoccupied after spotting a nearby zebra and the buffalo took this as a chance to escape the stream and scurry away from the lions.
The Topi pride is a pride of 20-plus lions taking up a large territory in the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
