Discover the stunning Ruyi Bridge: A modern marvel in Taizhou, China

Posted on 16 March 2023 By Tsoku Maela

The Ruyi Bridge, located in Shenxianju, Taizhou, Zhejiang, China, is a 100-meter-long glass bridge that spans the east and west gorges of Shenxianj. Construction of the bridge began in 2017 and was completed in 2020. The bridge gained popularity after a video of it went viral on Twitter, causing people to speculate whether it was real.

While the bridge may seem like something out of a science fiction movie, it is a reminder that there are still undiscovered things in the world worth experiencing. However, many people on the internet expressed their discomfort with the bridge’s design, describing it as “dangerous” and “scary.” Some even said they would not dare to walk on it.

According to a report from Interesting Engineering, the bridge’s design was inspired by the “ruyi” shape, which symbolizes power and good fortune in Chinese folklore. The concept behind the bridge was for it to blend in with the natural environment.

If you enjoy walking at a height of 140 meters above ground, the Ruyi Bridge is an experience worth adding to your travel bucket list. However, you may want to skip this one if you are faint-hearted. The bridge’s design is similar to that of two other majestic landscapes in China, the Grand Canyon Skywalk in Zhangjiajie and the Tianmen Skywalk in Guangdong province.
