A pack of African wild dogs were relocated to Malawi’s Liwonde National Park in 2021, the first time wild dogs have returned to the country in decades. Now, Malawi has just welcomed its first litter of wild dogs after the long absence.
After the pack of wild dogs arrived from South Africa, the alpha female appeared to be pregnant. The reintroduction of wild dogs is proving to be a resounding success and African Parks shared a video of a camera trap near their den as nine pups, now five months old, appeared healthy on the footage.
