Katherine Gilson, Steve, Richard Teichmann, and a group of close friends went on an extraordinary safari in Manyoni Private Game Reserve.
But no one could have predicted what lay ahead during a safari drive. Guided by the skilled Sandiso, the safari took a dramatic turn when they encountered a rare and unexpected sight: a massive hippo standing defiantly in the middle of the road on a scorching 95°F day. Known for their nocturnal habits and intolerance for daytime heat, hippos are not creatures you expect to meet in such conditions—especially not a grumpy territorial bull!
What started as a rare and awe-inspiring encounter quickly became a heart-pounding chase. With nerves of steel and unmatched expertise, Sandiso had to pull off an incredible feat of precision driving in reverse to keep everyone safe.
