Red Hartebeest and Elands were reintroduced to this national park’s biodiversity in an initiative to improve the effectiveness of conservation and wildlife tracking efforts.

These animals have tracking devices, which allow them to study and closely monitor their behaviour through the tags on their ears. The findings can be used for more efficient park management by tracking their movement through the park grounds. These specific species were placed in the Kwaggasvlakte section to facilitate their environmental needs.

This is a big step for SANParks management as it modernises and optimises the way animals are monitored to ensure they receive the care they need.
