A crowned eagle was on the brink of death in the sea in Durban. Various animal rescue entities rescued and rehabilitated it. When found, the bird was severely dehydrated and exhausted from its struggle to survive in the ocean.

As reported by IOL, James Wittstock, a leading figure at Crocworld Conservation Centre who aided in the bird’s rehabilitation, stated the bird’s speedy and remarkable recovery from its ordeal.

“They kindly offered to provide the medication if we could look after the bird, feeding it and creating the right environment for rehabilitation. After two to three weeks, the bird was eating, strong, and showing signs that it was ready for release.”

After his recovery, a team of experts safely released the bird into the wild and flew off into the distance while members of various organisations watched with pride.
